Kali Uchis is a Colombian singer, songwriter, producer and videographer, currently living in the US. Uchis writes and produces most of her own music. She released her debut mixtape Drunken Babble in 2012. In February 2015 she posted her first studio album Por Vida on her website for free. Her style seems to be influenced by reggae and early-2000s R&B.
In her single Ridin’ Round Kali Uchis tells the story of a young girl who doesn’t give a damn to conventional rules. The track combines simple lyrics and stirring air, having a lot in common with laid-back reggae tunes. The heroine of the song rides her bike around a Colombian city and one can hear the beat of her careless lifestyle: “Ridin' 'round your city with the top down, cause my passenger is pretty, we won't stop now…”
